Rashaun Kashif Davis, 35, was pulled over for driving with a fraudulent PA In-Transit paper tag near West Chester Pike and Lawrence Road around 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Marple Township Police said.
Officers “immediately” detected the odor of marijuana coming from Davis’ maroon Ford Flex, authorities said.
Davis and his female passenger denied having medical marijuana cards, and a subsequent search of the car turned up 5.5 ounces of the substance as well as packing materials, a scale, more than $650 in cash and a Smith & Wesson SD9 9mm firearm, which police say he cannot legally own due to his status as a convicted felon.
Davis was arrested and charged with several drug possession, distribution, weapon and vehicle offenses. He was being held on $100,000 bail.
